Graphite Kitchen Wrap

Project Overview

Heather contacted Wraptor Scotland after experiencing ongoing issues with her kitchen doors, which had previously been painted as part of a refurbishment. While the painted finish looked good initially, it quickly began to fail, particularly around high contact areas such as door handles. Everyday wear from fingernails and jewellery caused chipping and damage, leaving the kitchen looking worn far sooner than expected.

The Challenge

The client was understandably disappointed that the painted finish had not provided the durability she’d hoped for. With the underlying kitchen units still in good condition, replacing the doors was unnecessary, but another painted solution was unlikely to deliver a long term fix.

Our Approach

Following a site visit, we explained how architectural vinyl wrapping offers significantly greater durability than paint, with added protection against chipping and surface damage. Once agreed, the existing paint was carefully removed, and all surfaces were thoroughly cleaned and primed to ensure optimal adhesion.

The doors were then wrapped using Cover Styl’ Soft Touch Graphite, a premium architectural vinyl chosen for its refined appearance and hard wearing performance.

The Result

The completed kitchen now benefits from a sleek, contemporary finish that’s built to withstand everyday use. With a 10 year material warranty, the client can enjoy a kitchen that looks and performs like new without the ongoing maintenance issues associated with painted surfaces.

This project highlights how architectural wrapping can provide a long lasting, practical alternative where paint simply isn’t fit for purpose.
